FIAT America’s performance driving school will be held once again at Marina Airport. Club members, guests and co-workers are invited to refine their skills and define the limits of their automobiles. Team drivers are very much encouraged. You do not have to be a member to participate.
Dozens of exercises to refine your driving skills will be conducted. A fleet of exceptionally qualified instructors will ensure a safe and effective regimen. Most of all, you and your guests will have a terrific time. At the end of the day, you will emerge with greater confidence and skill than when you started. Many club members have repeatedly taken this class and the chance to explore the limits of their cars in a safe, fun and legal environment.
The school functions not only as a performance school, but, most importantly, as a safety promotion school. Knowing the limits of your car, yourself and establishing a priority system of accident avoidance pays off for every participant. For younger drivers, this is the only safe and legal chance to become familiar with automobile dynamics. For high-performance drivers, we have segments that are for advanced high-performance driving techniques. For first timers and competition drivers alike, this day will be fun and useful.
The format is to divide entries (limited to 28) into four groups. Each group will perform a series of exercises and then the groups will rotate through the four exercise areas. After lunch, we create one long course that incorporates almost all the exercises we have learned. At this time, many students and instructors ride together, trade cars, get new ideas and make long-lasting friendships.
There can be two paid entries per car. The paid entry fee is $125.00, payable to FIAT America, either by check mailed to Gary Luke, 13555 Spring Valley Rd., Morgan Hill, CA 95037 or by using the link on the club website, fiatamerica.com, and making a PayPal payment to treasurer@fiatamerica.com.
On Saturday, November 10th, at 5:00pm, we are planning to set-up the cones for the event. Stay tuned for confirmation that this will occur, since it requires permission, granted by the Airport, close to the event date. It makes a HUGE difference in how much work goes into the event if we can set-up on the Saturday before. Please plan to give a hand if you can.
HELMETS REQUIRED FOR CONVERTIBLE CARS. LOANERS LIKELY AVAILABLE.
